3rd Annual Bake Off is July 9. 8:00 pm

Turn your ovens on.  The 3rd annual Bake-Off is this coming Wednesday.  Last year the Puerto Ricans were in attendance and this year the two Olympic teams will be present and serve as the judges.  USA theme, Aussie theme, Stanford theme?  So many to choose from…  Dallmar Court in the Athletic Dept is the location (next to the pool).  All parents and players should come, there will be plenty of dessert to eat plus this is when you will get to mingle with the Olympians.

ALL Teams Qualify for National Championships

At the conclusion of Sunday’s qualifying games, we have qualified every team we entered for their respective championship.  Going to JOs will be 1-14 team, 2-16’s and 2-18 teams.  And heading to 20/U & Open Nationals will be 2 teams each.  Congratulations to everyone on your hard work so far. 

JO teams will be announced no later than Tue, July 15th.  We will be looking for chaperones for each team so please talk to the coaches if you are available.  We depart early Wed, July 30, and drive south, stopping along the way to train with some teams.  More information on JOs will be posted soon.  

Two club athletes named to National Teams

Ruth Milne and Julia Peters were selected to the USA Junior National and USA Youth National Teams last week after competing with players from around the country.

Ruth will compete with the Junior National Team at the Born ’88 Global Championships at Los Alamitos. Julia will travel to Brazil with the Youth National Team for the Junior Pan American Championships. Congratulations!

Three club veterans named college All-Americans

Molly Hayes (Cal), Kelly Eaton (Stanford) and Phoebe Champion (Princeton) were honored by the collegiate water polo coaches as 2008 All-Americans.

Molly, a senior, was named to the Second Team, while Kelly and Phoebe, both sophomores, were named Honorable Mention.

All three started with the club in middle school and played for Stanford in the Speedo Cup, JOs, 20-under nationals and senior nationals.

18-under JO Qualifying

The following are the rosters for 18-under JO Qualifying. Your participation is based on being attendance eligible (minimum 3/4 practices this week). You also must be able to attend the entire qualification tournament.

Remember, these are the rosters for this weekend’s tournament only – they are NOT the final players or teams for the Junior Olympics. We are constantly evaluating the players and will name the final teams in July.

If you are not on the roster and want to be considered for JOs, you need to be eligible and attend the 18B games.
