What college do/did you play water polo for?
I attended Santa Clara University and played all four years. I graduated 2012.

What position(s) do you typically play?
My main role on the team was 2M offense.

How long did you play water polo for the Stanford club?
I started my freshman year of high school and played until my sophomore year in college. So about 6 years, winter and summer club.

At what age did you start playing water polo?
I started playing water polo at age 15.

As soon as you started playing water polo, did you know that it was something you wanted to do later in life, or did you have other interests for a while as well?
After playing my freshman year in high school and getting the hang of the sport I fell in love with it. I wanted to better my skills and that’s why I decided to play Stanford water polo. I remember attending a Saturday practice with all the age groups and went over to the Belardi pool where the 18U were playing and saw the older girls play and right then and there I really wanted to be like them and have the skills that they did.

What high school did you attend?
I attended Mountain View High School.

What made you want to do water polo or how/why did you start playing?
I attended a St. Francis sports camp the summer before high school and one of the rotational sports we could play was water polo. I remember passing and shooting and having a one on one with Lizzie Rouleau asking me if I ever played water polo. I said no, and she told me it is something I should consider playing! After that I gave it some thought and decided to play in the fall at Mountain View High.

Growing up, did you play any other sports? If so, for how long?
I started swim team at age 12 and also played some soccer. Once I started playing water polo I continued to participate on swim team in the off season to stay in shape but water polo was my main focus.

Do you think, later in life, you will continue to play water polo?
Yes! I currently play right now on a master’s team up at Foothill College. It’s a great way to stay in shape and play at a somewhat competitive level.

What is your biggest water polo achievement?
Receiving MVP my senior year of college while setting the school record for most kickouts drawn in a season and holding the record of most kickouts drawn period at Santa Clara University.

When did you realize that water polo was something you wanted to pursue to a collegiate level?
Right after I started Stanford Club my freshman year of high school I knew this was something I wanted to pursue in college.

Did you play for any clubs other then Stanford? If so, which ones?
I played solely for Stanford polo throughout my high school and college career.

What is your favorite water polo memory/experience?
I really enjoyed all the travel tournaments, all the serious pregame talks, building friendships through the club and teams we would play, and the high level competition. Water Polo is such a great community to be a part of and it is something you can do for the rest of your life.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Mountain View, CA.

Do you have any future water polo goals?
I hope to continue to play masters water polo and have fun!
