Do you still play water polo?

I play water polo from time to time with Oakland Masters. Really fun to get together with everyone.

Did you play water polo in college? What was that like?
I played water polo at UC Berkeley. It was an experience I will never forget. I learned what it was like to work really hard physically and mentally. I made friends that have lasted over 15+ years and no matter how much time has gone by we still pick up where we left off:) I was able to travel to different states and counties and learn about other cultures and keep those connections as well.

What team was your rival when you played for Stanford?
There were a few but the one that comes to mind is Marin Water Polo

Where do you live now?
Kensington, East Bay

Do you keep in touch with club teammates?
We do. Most live in the Bay Area still. If not, we keep in touch via Facebook.

Favorite memory of the club?
Playing the game of Memory with Maureen Eger during hurricane Erin at Junior Olympics in Florida.

What did you major in at college?
Early Childhood Development.

Do you remember any advice from a club coach?
Yes. You have an opportunity to go far in this sport. What you make of it is up to you.

What hobbies do you enjoy?
Rock climbing, Lego building, hanging out with my new puppy, discovering new spots to explore in the Eastern Sierras

Editor’s note: Fana played water polo in Australia after college and has been a mentor to many young water polo players as a coach.
