What is your favorite memory at the club?
My favorite memory is participating in JOs. I enjoyed the excitement around the tournament and traveling with the team.
What high school did you go to?
Notre Dame Belmont
What was it like being on the first 14-under team from Stanford to play at JO’s?
I actually joined the team about 2 weeks prior to JOs, had never played water polo before and did not realize the kind of big deal JOs was at the time. Being a strong swimmer helped me keep up with the game and learn the ropes quickly.
When did you start playing water polo?
I started playing the summer before high school, right before that summer’s JOs. My father had played water polo and I was a strong swimmer so it was only a matter of time before I started playing too. So happy that I did because it was a lot more fun than swimming.
What is the best advice you’ve gotten from a coach (about Water Polo, or just in general)?
When things get tough don’t give up, go harder. Water polo at Stanford taught me the value of hard work and determination. And that when you push yourself you will be amazed by what you can accomplish.
What are your other hobbies?
These days I love running, soul cycle and wakeboarding. And in my free time I am chasing after my 2.5 year old son!
Did you play College Water Polo? If so, what was it like?
I played 2 years of college water polo and absolutely loved it. Everything I learned through Stanford club team and high school came into fruition in college and I was at my best as an athlete. I also created great friendships with my teammates and we had a blast together both in and out of the pool.
Where do you live now?
I live in Atherton, CA. Didn’t make it very far from where I grew up! Can you blame me, the bay area is the best!
Where do you work now?
I work at Linkedin in Compensation and Benefits.
